I provide subtitle revision, proofreading and QC for film, TV, streaming, festivals and corporate content, focusing on how subtitles behave in real viewing conditions: timing, flow, and reading comfort under screen constraints.

I specialize in Latin American Spanish, working into and from English and French in audiovisual localization workflows.

Based in Montevideo, Uruguay, I work remotely with agencies and production teams worldwide.

What goes into subtitle QC?

As a senior QCer, my review looks at subtitles in motion, not in isolation. I take special care to ensure that:

• Line breaks and subtitle segmentation allow for natural, fluid reading.
• Subtitles are well-synchronized with the dialogue and visual narrative.
• Fast-paced dialogue or dense scenes can be understood correctly.
• Terminology and style are consistent throughout the story.

Linguistic refinement

I make the necessary changes to ensure that the translated subtitles align with the style of the audiovisual product:

• I review the wording and translation choices.
• I preserve characterization.
• I ensure that the subtitles meet the highest linguistic and communication standards.

Because four eyes are better than two

Revision often reveals details that the first reading naturally misses.

I review and edit subtitles by immersing myself in the material while maintaining enough distance to detect shifts in pacing, inconsistencies in quality, or small details that influence how a scene is perceived on screen.

Working with your subtitle files

Every subtitling workflow has its preferred format. I work with the subtitle formats commonly used across streaming, broadcast, and audiovisual localization projects, including .srt, .stl, .ssa/.ass, .itt, .vtt, .xml, and other industry-standard subtitle formats.

If your workflow uses a different format, feel free to ask. Chances are I have worked with it before.
